I hope that the pullets will start any day now despite the nasty weather as they are well overdue.

Yep, Juin is my Dominique. My Marans stopped laying back in September, but Juin is still laying almost everyday!



Always hard to get a good photo of her, she’s very quick and very focused on foraging. Always has her head buried when I go to take a picture. I swear when she’s scratching she gets in double the kicks compared to the other girls! Finding all the grubs to make more eggs I guess

Got 5 eggs yesterday and 4 today.

57 eggs, what do you with those eggs? Pancake, flan, .etc..
I got 9 laying hens, but I only have 4 eggs yesterday. The heritage breed only give about 4 eggs a week, the ISA brown is 7 eggs a week. The bantams are taking turn going broody, and some of the heritage breed also taking turn going broody. On average I get 2 to 3 eggs a day.

I have not gotten any in a couple of weeks does anyone know the cause it’s been getting cold at night and I’m feeding them plenty of water and protein food

Aww Juin is so cute! She's definitely a hard worker with those eggs! Sounds like she is getting plenty of bugs and such to keep on going.
