How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

3 today, from my pullets Helmi, Brelly and Marzo.

So Marzo’s comb is finally fully grown. I’ve been waiting to see if it would look like Juin’s which looks like a jauntily-angled robin hood style cap, the tip curling off slightly to her right. Marzo instead has a hilarious unicorn horn, the tip points straight up and almost curls forward. It’s adorable! When she sits in my lap I can gently press it back against her head and then *boing* up it bounces back to attention!

I got three today from my easter egger, deathlayer, and one of my orpingtons, all pullets. I'm still "patiently" waiting for my welsummer, schijndelaar, and speckled sussex pullets to start laying.
Schijndelaar? I haven't heard of that breed.

I'd never heard of the breeds deathlayer or schijndelaar before. Very interesting and pretty chickens!

At first I thought you had named your Easter egger "Deathlayer." 😆

The shijndelaar is a crested breed from the Netherlands. They're pretty new and were recently imported by Greenfire Farms. Of course, their crest is supposed to be pretty docile, but mine almost looks like a polish with how much fluff she has on her head. We named her 'Mindblown' because of it 😆

The deathlayer is a really beautiful landrace breed from Germany. I have one silver pullet, but the golden variety are absolutely gorgeous, too.

Deathlayer would be a pretty rad name for an Easter egger, though.
