How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Well, it’s been a tough couple days here with weather issues, and sick chooks. I have been gather eggs with out counting them. But it’s safe to say last couple days at least 15 each day.

I didn’t bother counting tonight either, dealing with a frail critical elderly hen, she has passed but she had a lovely long life and I even have a daughter of hers.

Seems even though it’s still miserably cold and snowy, the chooks seem to think Spring is on the way. Ladies please slow up! Save some for summer.

And so it goes the older ladies will pop out eggs now and then they will be done until Autumn. I am ok with that.

I am sorry that your little hen passed away. She left you a granddaughter to love.

4 eggs yesterday.
My little pullet started laying late last week and have been doing 1 egg a day since.
Her egg weight 40gm so I am so happy that it is a small egg.
Her parents are Isa Brown so I have fear of reproductive issue from her. So long her egg is on the small scale then might be she will be fine.

I collected 4 today but I'm not sure if any were from yesterday but I got my first Penny egg today. I'm super excited for her to finally be comfortable enough to start laying again. I went back out and got 3 more eggs today. I'm counting it as 7 for today from 6 hens

Four for me. One orpington, easter egger, deathlayer and welsummer. My welsummer decided to join in today and gave me her first beautiful, dark brown, speckled egg. That puts me up to six layers. Ironically, I'm just waiting on my speckled sussex to give me her first egg, who is supposed to be a prolific layer and is also my oldest pullet. Ah well
