How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Little late, but yesterday I got 8 eggs!! None of them broke, too.

I got 11/19 yesterday including a mystery blue egg I believe to be from my EE, though the prairie blue bell was awful talkative and milling around the coop too. Oddly I recently got 2 rather long eggs from 2 different hens. I candled them but couldn't tell if they were double yolks or not. Here they are next to a normal egg.

Been setting aside certain eggs from specific birds in preparation for incubation. I was going to try waiting till the 8th but I'm thinking I will start up the bator a couple days sooner on the 5th or 6th. I got all the eggs I need from each bird so I've been switching out the old for the new. I'll be trying to squeeze in 36 eggs (vertical) in my 24 egg (horizontal) incubator. In theory by day 7 I will candle and remove any blanks and have enough room to sit them horizontal on the rollers. In theory. My single bantam EE laid her first egg after her winter break a few days ago and I was debating on incubating it. Well I fumbled the single egg of hers and it got a little cracked so unless she lays more in the next few days there will be no more debating. Too bad, I kinda wanted to see what she and the BJG roo would create. My current line up of eggs, missing spot from the bantam egg The last 4 eggs on the right in the brown carton are likely to change.

Found 4 more while doing chores, one was brittle and broke in my hand when I picked it up.

i got 9 eggs today out of 10 hens that should be laying at this time woohooo.

4, all brown. Out of 12 hens

10 out of 20 girls, although we think 3 maybe 6 aren't laying yet. We have slower girls too, Brahmas and eggers

You're telling me! I've decided to get the incubator up and running properly tomorrow then put the eggs in once I'm sure the temp is right.

I've got something ADORABLE for y'all;

They LOVE each other now, haha I think the little chicks think those ducklings are mama

The Ducklings MAKE SO MUCH MESS with the water, I took out the regular waterer and gave the nipple one -- they can use it but... I felt bad so now there is both types in there and omg.. they LOVE the regular waterer and just splash around and make such a fuss, I guess brooding baby ducks just means extra $$ for more bedding lololol
