1 larger than usual Cubalaya ... or maybe it is from a Faverolle ... or ... OK, I'm not sure

Two in the nest box, one under the roost.

Curious.... Mine seem to lay only where the purple plastic egg is. What will happen if I take it out? I noticed yesterday they were waiting for the box with the fake egg in it. If I move the egg, they go to that box. I have 3 boxes. Or would I be better off to put 2 more plastic eggs in?

I have found eggs on the floor of my coop to. But rarely...

Yep, when the purple egg got knocked out of the Bo, the EE left hers on the floor, by the fake egg.

I suspect so!

I found a nice plastic Easter egg, half purple, half yellow (the kids always mixed and matched when they were little) in the basement. Weighted it and taped it shut. I'm going to put it in the box tomorrow and see what happens. I don't know if they will eventually hit the box every time out of habit even if there is no "target" egg in there. But then, a 15+ year old plastic Easter egg isn't exactly a great expense. Assuming they don't think it is super defective because of the color and avoid it like the plague, might as well leave it in. Easy to tell the real ones from the fake one!!

I do have to add, they just started laying in the last two weeks.

I never had fake eggs and all three of my layers laid on the floor only the first time,,,,i suppose they weren't sure what the heck was going on and since then all have laid in the nest boxes....each in a different one haha.
