9 from my 17 hens, but they're young and it's winter. Found out our EE is an olive egger, yay! She lays gorgeous khaki green velvety eggs. And our wheaten Ameraucanas lay beautiful baby blue eggs. Also love our dark speckled Welsummer eggs. I got my colorful basket - woot!

Today was 21 out of 25, RIR. They range from a low of 15 to the 21, but average about 18. They are now about 8 months old.

We had our first 100% day. 25/25 on Friday. Last week's total 134 - went something like this : 19,17,19,20,21,25,19. We are in the egg business now!

I got 2 eggs today! Not 1 but 2! I have been getting one egg a day for what feels like forever, and I have 2 other pullets that are within laying age...so getting 2 eggs today feels like a huge accomplishment...given it is much much smaller than the eggs I normally get, but we got a bantam mixed mama hen with 7 chicks that are now almost 5 months old, and she hadn't started back laying yet, and I have another Buff Orpington that looked ready to start 2 months ago...so it might be her first egg, or it might belong to the bantie mama...




I'll crack it open tomorrow and see what's going on in there...it might be a wind egg, which I would attribute to the orp since it might be her first egg. The big egg is the everyday egg we get from one little leghorn hen...she is only slightly larger than the bantie mama...Anyway I'm super excited.

If it's a good day, I get 2 duck eggs and 4 chicken eggs. So 6 eggs.

2/5 for 3 days in a row..that's actually good for what they've been doing! Keep finding eggs all over the yard though and every time I do they move the nest. I'm thinking there may be more eggs out there. None are molting and 2 just started laying so all 5 are laying now.

only 1 today. My other ladies laid so late yesterday so I wasn't expecting from them today... I should get at least 4 tomorrow though. Kaylee's taking lots of long breaks now... Hope she's ok.
