How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Our layer flock is mostly older hens, a couple ancient bantams, and one young rhode island red. We have 17 in total including the rooster, and we get 6-8 eggs a day during the summer, 3-5 during winter. Most of these birds are several years old, the australorps and bantams are quite old, the rooster is several years old, and most of the RIRs are pretty gold. We got them from a friend who had them for a few years, and he got them from various friends who had had their respective hens for a year or more before giving them away. We have no idea how old they are, but the egg production is just pitiful lol.

10 for 10 today!!!!!
I don't count the 3 older girls they hardly ever lay but they're not really that old!
And I don't count the rooster :)

And I don't count the rooster :)

REALLY good idea or you would be sorely disappointed EVERY day because you didn't get 100%

I got one egg today I'm super excited it's my first egg from my first ever chicken I can't wait to see what it taste like

Congratulations. The first IS an amazing feeling. Waiting patiently, maybe not so patiently after awhile, then it is laid

I have 12 laying girls all 7 months old. The last day I only got one egg was when I only had one girl laying! 5 of yesterday's were later in the day so I didn't expect EVERYONE to lay (not that that has ever happened) but GEEZ! Come on girls, step up!

Thank you Echo for your contribution today. I really expected Zorra to lay today since she laid before 8 AM yesterday and had that 16 day streak, then took a day off and started up again 3 days ago. But yesterday's egg was the monster 88 gram egg so I guess she gets a pass today.

Everyone else? No Pass! Get to work!
