How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

4 hens, 4 eggs. My girls usually lay an egg a day.

We went from 81 degrees yesterday to 39 and falling this morning... I bet my expectation of 7 today is blown.


ETA: In fact, I am going to go ahead and amend the chart to show that Inara and Nandi will find this weather so disgusting that they both take today off and lay tomorrow morning... not that tomorrow morning will be any better... Because we are supposed to be heading into the warmer drier months... we started peeling the tarps off of the run, and we are supposed to get snow tonight (LOLcry) And if you recall, Inara was so offended at the sight of snow outside of their run last time, that she stopped laying entirely until it melted... And tomorrow... the snow will be in the run... in Kansas City... on May 3rd... Which is... Ridiculous with a capital F.


ETA: Ah, I underestimated them... Got all 7 eggs... right on time.

The girls gave 3 for 3 yesterday, all before noon.

Dunno yet today, as Austra was in the nest when i looked.

Still time to check before the day is done.

1. ONE egg from 7 chickens over 2 days.

Of course, they laid more than that, but since I didn't get out there yesterday, they destroyed and ate them all. BAD chickens.

Yesterday was a record 8 eggs out of 14. One was thin shelled and broke though. All the other days have been 5 or less. Hopefully we just need time as its a new flock (we've been building ort first flock over the last two months.)

2 eggs from 4 chicks, but one is broody and I just found out that one doesn't lay eggs (at all I think). So really I got 2 from 2.

Got 7/14 today. Not bad but I'd love to get 14 someday.
