My 23 girls are about 6 1/2 months old. We got 11 eggs today... and one soft shell that was broken. That makes the second soft shell in 3 days, so I'm thinking that another hen is just starting to lay. I have RIR, BO, 1 White Leghorn, and 2 Blue Copper Marans.. This is new for us, so I am wondering how many I will be able to expect when they are in "full-laying" mode.

A little frustrated. 4 from 26. 15 are young hens 4 mo old. But not sure what the problem is.

The 4 month olds aren't laying yet so it's 4 from 11.

I think some of the people getting 6 or 7 from 7 birds don't have older birds.

I have 21 laying age pullets/hens from 6 months to 5 years. Between some just starting, molting, setting and predator attacks I'm getting from 1 to 5 a day now.
