Yes mine starting laying really well averaging 10/16 a day until the fox attack

where I'm now averaging 4/10 a day

We got two today (from 6). Happy though as one is from a new layer and the other is from our Wyandotte that started laying last Sunday. Not sure who our other one was from. It's smaller and paler so possibly one of the silkies. Our Polish is acting funny today (more than usual) so I think if it wasn't her she'll be laying soon .

The small one was laid outside the hen house - is there anyway of encouraging our culprit to lay in their box?

Try putting golf balls and/or fake eggs in the nestboxes to encourage them to lay in them.

We have fake eggs in. They turfed one out of the box to the other end of their house! I cleaned their house today and popped the escapee fake back in

Maybe locking them in for a couple of days may help so they can't lay anywhere else and therefore teaching them to lay in the nestboxes?
