some chicken supply companies sell plastic or wooden eggs to train hens where to lay, my Dad who is 73, says Grandma used wooden eggs and small light bulbs. good luck, ping pong balls taken from sons beer pong supplies.

3/6 yesterday before I left for work, and NOTHING so far today! I'm hoping they just need a couple extra hours to recuperate, because yesterday's eggs were XL or larger. I don't have an egg scale yet, but they were similarly sized or bigger than the few grocery store ones we had left.

4 today --- first time. Hooray -- I guess I have 4 girls laying now for sure. My 2 Easter Eggers are close but just not there yet. Don't know if this helped or not but as of Sunday I only had 2 laying and I started giving them some cayenne pepper on their food. I used it for 4 days then backed off. Wasn't sure how long to give it to them. Any thoughts on how long you can give them cayenne pepper?

3/8 still waiting for the two youngest to get with the program, an EE and a maran - Ginger and Marianne. We had Gilligan too but he became dinner a few weeks ago. Who says you can't eat them if you name them?
