First day of four!

Töyhtis laid her first egg today, 48g. Sadly, it broke as she decided to exit the nest after 20 minutes and laid it on the door sill on her way out of the coop.

The egg you got from Toyhtis is such a pretty color...what breed of chicken is she?

But half BCM, half blue egg layer anyway. I'm going to have to contact the breeder and ask a bit about them, we were completely clueless when we ordered the eggs.

That is a lovely colour egg Vehve!

5/5 today before 10am. I shall enjoy it while it lasts because I suspect we are having prime egg laying weather at the moment. As soon as it heats up egg production may change a lot.

9 Chicken egg's today and + 1 broken egg .....




Temps 110 F degrees by 9 AM and this after noon cloddy so the humidity went way up to silly

dry heat is one thing but add humidity and death warmed over lucky no live stock losses yet this year due to heat .....
