they better watch out they may not get their frozen bottles tomorrow to sit/lay on! Hmmm as I type I hear one of them squawking rather loudly, starting up the egg song maybe..maybe a 3 egg day tomorrow? I'm so excited with 2 eggs, I can only imagine 3 eggs!

lol well I think you have more chickens then I. Technically only 2 out of my 5 are mine and we split the eggs with the neighbors who own the other 3. I doubt we'd ever stockpile that many anytime soon. But you are right, one day I may have more eggs than I know what to do with. You know how chicken math goes.... I already have plans to hatch some chicks next year sometime!

7 Chicken egg's today

The temps were only 107 F by 9 AM .....

Our production is up again. Only one who hasn't restarted after her broodyness, and one pullet hasn't started laying yet, but she's getting redder all the time. Average egg size is up to 38.4g, but that includes every egg we've gotten. I think we're currently averaging a bit above 40g

2/5 again today! I'm so excited. I actually thought my original layer was going to take today off because her laying time was getting late in the day. The first egg of the day was about 3 pm so that must have been the 2nd layers egg, there wasn't an egg when I left for school at 530 pm so penguin laid hers somewhere between 530 and 730 and will now likely take tomorrow off. I'm still not sure who my 2nd layer is but I suspect I may have my answer tomorrow. I have a hen with sour crop I'm so sad. I have her separated from the rest so if I find an egg tomorrow in the coop then I think it's safe to assume the layer is my production red. Yay for 2 eggs again but boo on the sour crop, I hope I can fix my girl!
