Not bad at all!!!!

Today I reduced my free range area to 1/2 acre, from 2 acres. They will no longer have access to the shops, the porch, under the porch, the sheds....ETC ETC, I am curious to see if I have an egg increase because they no longer have so many egg laying options. My husband is absolutely sure that one day he is going to find a huge stash of eggs in his giant shop with a million hiding places.

Awhile back we culled an old hen who we suspected of eating eggs more than once in awhile, and after she went in the stew pot we had an immediate egg increase of 4 more daily. I never saw her eat chicken food,but had caught her eating eggs once in awhile, I didn't realize she had a 4 egg daily habit!

She was very very sneaky about it.

4 so far, including two from the Silkies. Expecting one more, but I have the feeling one of the sex links has started to lay her eggs in the woods while she is out cruising.

2/12 today with 2 new layers taking a rest day and my Aussie and EE both laying for at least the 4th straight day (5 for the Aussie). The poor EE was running around for quite a while this afternoon, kicking shavings out of corners, all three nests, around the poop board and then I just went out to feed them and I found her egg on the ground in the run again. I guess she'll figure it out eventually. At least she knows the nests are there.

I did find another egg today!! I'm very thankful.....that is ten eggs so far this week.

Only four today. Wired weather though. 40 something today and it started sleeting around 4:00 pm.
