My last broody has one month old chicks.....so I am guessing that I wouldn't be able to slip any day old chicks under her....sigh....I just need to stay away from all feed stores. The local swap starts back up next month so maybe I will wait and get pullets.....
The birds finally came outside after lunch and looks like I will get a few eggs...not sure how many yet.
I got four eggs today after 8 yesterday (my highest!). But I know the count varies and I wonder if is partly because their routine was disrupted due to snow. They really don't care for it and they didn't come out of the coup until after lunch. They are fine once they get to the porch....they hang under it where they can dust bathe and part of the afternoon they can catch a nap in the sun. There is even a nest box under there.....a fancy chicken spa, lol.
