Mine lay eggs late in the afternoon, and they egg song BEFORE they lay.... they sing....I wait an hour... then there's an egg.

Nutty birds.

YES YES YES! Drama Queens all the way! I'll hear and see them singing away and the nest is empty, then they get in and lay their egg with much fanfare, a ton of time, and when they sprinkle bedding on their back I imagine them singing "Tra la la, sprinkle sprinkle" I love it!!! They are the silliest most lovable little winged creatures ever!

Here is one of my very girly Red Stars TRA LA LAing in a nesting box, sprinkling bedding on her back, silly sweet girl, courtesy of a wifi camera! I can snap pictures while watching live video....Don't judge me......

Tell me about it.... Today's high is 72 . Tomorrow's is 43.

Can somebody hunt down that GROUNDHOG and have a little talk

with him? It's no wonder everyone is getting sick.... Last week it was in the teens...

We don't judge... Much....

I put one of my husbands hunting cams out every night to monitor the predator population here... So far (in 1weeks time), I caught pics of a fox, several raccoons, opossums, an owl and even a dusk time swoop of a hawk catching a rat..... And my husband wonders why I want the new coop/run area to be covered and hardware cloth skirted under and up the fence. He thinks that a 7' privacy fence, 4' tall fencing around the run and a pig headed dog loose will be protection enough... Note the dog will be separated from the birds by the regular fence.

Like the fence stopped her before...


I'm going to com premise with him on the run and have him put a half cover over it to allow rain/air raid protection... Include the truck bed liner that I've propped up in the yard and the wooded lean to I put out there and I pray they will be safe.

The beauty of living in Hawaii is awesome weather 24/7 and no frozen eggs!!!! if it makes you feel any better I got a little burned so I can't really go today.

Looking very forward to finding out who is giving me eggs now!

72 isn't bad, but when it varies 30 degrees from day to day-no thanks! It's been a consistent 80-85 here. Everyday. I live at 1400ft elevation. It's most times a 10 degree difference down at the ocean. When I've had enough of the heat I return home to my jungle retreat.

Ok guys... For everyone who is snowbound right now... Grrrrrr at this guy...

We have a joke here in Mobile Alabama..... It goes like this.... Don't like the weather, wait 12 hours.... It will change.....

I'm in shorts and shorts leaves today... Tomorrow I'll look like an Eskimo.... And this is normal.... Last year we had a 45 degree change in 8 hours....
