It's been a rough winter. 0 out of 20 for the last couple weeks. Feathers everywhere! It's been cold out there and as much as I try to make them comfortable I think they all just decided to molt at once. Most of them will be 2 years old this April, but my trusty leghorns are going to be 3 in April. I slacked last year with getting fresh stock when feed prices went up so much. Now I am really paying for it... no eggs to sell to offset the feed they are eating anyway!!!
Same as yesterday. Only 17 for 43 hens. We're STILL looking for an instructional video to show them how it's supposed to be done. Even the rooster was sitting in a nest cheering them on.
