Finally!! Haven't had hardly any from my new hens and I came home yesterday to this!!

Ever stand there and watch an egg being payed? I just did. Cool. I'm having to watch my broody momma hen today because her little family just went from her and 2 chicks to this...

I've got a brooder inside ready in case she rejects the new chicks but she got puffy at me and was sitting on them a min ago.

Good to know a broody just might wait more than a couple of days for the rest of the viable eggs to hatch!

I was shocked myself. From what I've read it's very rare. My problem now is that the other hens, or at least one of them, started attacking my babies when they wondered to close to her while she was laying. I know Momma's overwealmed with the 4 newbies on top of the other 2 but will she start protecting them better? When the one chick yelped the momma came and scooped her under a wing but didn't repremend the hen. Should I watch for needing to remove them and raising them in a brooder? Will momma step up? Come on girl. That's a baby.
