How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

14 eggs today but now it's from 15 hens, something (probably a raccoon) killed one of my EE's through the fence on the door of her enclosed run early this morning.
I don't think it could have been last night because she & all the other EE's were on their roost inside the coop & they don't come out until daylight.
I have to get more batteries for the trail camera.

14! It was kind of nice for a smaller amount(21 hens) all of them we're clean and finally none of them stank!! I had a failed experiment with a broody hen and a rotten eggs got broken in the box. I clean it out as best I could but after the eggs laid in that box had a residual smell. So finally it seems the smell has worn off!!!

Only 8/13/26 yesterday.

On a related note, the chicks that were SUPPOSED to hatch Sunday are hatching already!
Hmmmm, I have a feeling my neighbors weren't very thorough when picking up the eggs while I was gone a couple of weeks ago.

Two are out so far, expecting another 17(?). Wasn't ready, now I have to buy chick starter and build a brooding area ASAP.

sorry about Scout... I myself lost my 7 week old cockerel chick last week and was looking to him to replace his evil daddy.

Good grief... It's been a busy day yesterday... Several of my eggs started hatching early. 4 came out just fine while 2 came out stuck aka shrink warped to parts of the shell.... One had its butt stuck... Named it Eggbutt... While the other had its head and most of its body glued to the membrane. I spent an hour carefully misting the membrane and gently rubbing with wet q-tips until it was freed....

My daughter calls it Shelly because flakes of shell were still stuck on it this morning. I've sensed removed the shell and some of the gunk with more q-tips.

These are the 2 I helped.

This is all of them... Hatch date is really tonight/tomorrow so I'm leaving everything else alone and praying.
