How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Most everyone has beginners luck with pullets laying into their first autumn/winter.
They molt their second autumn and each thereafter. That creates a egg hiatus that can last months.
First timers are unpleasantly surprised going into the second autumn.

My best advice for those people is to start stockpiling eggs in late summer.

Are you sure all 11 are laying? I have 3 the same age 1 has been laying for a month and the other 2 haven't even started yet though 1 is getting close

4 so far, by the time I left the coop/run area Brownie was in the box working on trying to lay her egg. She wasn't thrilled that I went into the coop to put the waterer back in there. She'll get over it though.

Just found this thread! I was getting 20-24 per day from 28 chickens before the sun started setting around 7:45 every day. Since then, they have decreased greatly! I've had as little as 4 one day and 12 another. I did change their food and have been monitoring their protein intake (went from pre mixed food to mixing my own) and adding in sprouted grains to see if there was an increase. Haven't noticed a difference yet and last night was 9/28 eggs.
