Thought I'd share the beautiful Missouri sunset we had tonight!

Now that is a fine sunset thank you .

Three days in a row 4 eggs each day so nice .




The last two days I got a duck egg but I am letting her build a nest .





Temp it if cooling off again as it is now down to the high 70's with light winds .

My chickens are molting, so I have no eggs from my 2 Plymouth R.

they will get through that get a bag of chick hi protein
and some yogurt help them through it

I have 4 roosters, but only need 3. I am trying to decide between 2 EE roosters. I am hoping that you all will look at these pictures & help me decide which one to keep. Thanks.


These first 3 pictures are of candidate # 1


The 3 pictures above are candidate # 2.

Both of them are about the same age, with in a few months of each other anyway. The winner will be guardian over my EE hens. Let me know what you think. If you have any questions, just ask. Thanks for looking.

If the same age, I would watch this video on how to select roosters for building better birds.

If both check out the same, then select the color you like best to transfer to his daughters.

I like candidate number two, but I'll take the loser if he's docile with hens, and a hawk destroying fighter. 5/5 today. GC

My girls were attacked by a cooper's hawk yesterday and got a hold of one of my girls but she got away. 4/5 today. l am putting fishing line over the run to prevent that from happening again. GC

Glad she got away. We are covering our run after a recent attack where we lost 2.

2 eggs today.

2 eggs again today out of 4 but only 2 I believe are laying as the others are not ready yet

brought 9 in this morning making changes with nesting boxes had 8
rubbermade tubs with the fronts cut out taking it down to 6 all one level
birds have been roosting on the stacked boxes trying to get higher
more crap more places birds lay only in certain boxes no more
stacked all one level now but still gave me 5 more for 14 of 18 + 2
