It's always exciting to get that first egg! Don't be surprised it you get an egg sporadically at first. It usually takes hens a while to get everything done smooth. Some of mine laid an egg every 3rd day at first and then over time became more steady at an egg every day with just a day or so skipped every week or so.

4 today, wahoo! I believe Cotton, Pearl, Penny and Patty. I think that either Penny or Patty has gradually been laying a lighter colored egg. I thought one might have been from Rosie or Worse, but now I don't think so. Penny is the lighter color of the two, maybe her eggs are lighter as well.
