How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

It's what I'd call personally a medium brown. The picture makes it lighter than it really is- lousy laptop camera.
We had barred rocks (among others) and I remember their eggs being about this color. It's speckled though, but that could just be because they are new layers I suppose.
Cornish, Brahmas and Delawares are other options but the color is too dark for Brahma in my experience.

We got 24/30 today! We have 17 girls that are 8 weeks old right now (in addition to the 30)...we are going to be overloaded in eggs in a couple months!

4/17. My RIR took the day off. I got a new layer though and a torpedo from blue/mint EE. Any guesses on who laid the glossy cream colored egg? I’m thinking my buff Brahma bantam. But I also have a BR and a SLW that look close.

I have eggs, eggs and more eggs. Sent a dozen with hubs for someone at work, a dozen to the neighbor and 18 with my daughter today. Making 2 batches of brownies today to use up some more, and probably take a dozen to a friend at work tomorrow.

............4/15... 4/16... 4/17

Dasher .....1.........1........1
Missy........1.........0........1
Donner......1.........1....... 1

Is this purely a seasonal warmup or will the hens lay like crazy and then go broody with no rooo nearby... They seem to take more interest in being petted lately...
;)
