How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

So Mabel did lay a bit later so another 3/3 day but I dropped it as I was closing the gate :th:barnieI guess it had to happen at some point  .

You will eventually discover a number of ways to break an egg :D.
My favorite (and that of others on this thread) is to forget I have them in a coat pocket, or to forget the egg basket and try to pick up too many at once.

I can see myself doing both :lau just not had eggs in winter yet as my girls just started laying and the Silkies being broody I only have 3 to collect. My biggest issue to date has been my 3 year old - he has had 2 'incidents' one not being careful enough carrying his egg to the house and another involving a toy digger :lau

So far 4 today including one Cornish that was still hot and damp when I picked it up lol. Will check once more in a bit. Got the first shipped eggs- will be setting the incubator Wednesday most likely. Going to put as many as will fit. Will be my first with chicken eggs solo. I've hatched ducks really well in this homemade incubator though so it hopefully will do fine.

Did I actually get 9/3 today? My neighbour brought me round 6 Faverolles eggs to put under my broody :lau
