So yes you have a boy and at least one girl (no matter ages that way) have you bought a incubator ? now below a year a male is cockerel then becomes a rooster at 1, a girl is a pullet till 1 then becomes a hen.. how old is the egg? may not have been veining

Oh yes I have 11 pullets, six 20 wk and four 18. Mr Marty is 20 wk . It be nice if girls would eventually hatch some for me but I can totally see myself incubating some better start my research now!

Be very, very, very careful - it is insanely addictive! I wanted a flock of about 12 - raising to 18 during bredding periods as my maximum and no only 8 months after starting I have 21 what no hang on that can't be right as I have anohter 22 incubating as well. Eeeeeeeeek

Seems like chicken maths refers to more that just the adding of chickens to ones flock I need to sit down and write all mine down!

Poulechick...Lol that's funny how how you say be very careful...these chickens were my husband's idea...I put it off for awhile, didn't have any interest, then when I pulled there trigger and went to buy the chicks and all their stuff I. WAS. HOOKED. I am now banned from going anywhere that has baby chicks by myself. I have totally taken this adventure over and made it my own. I will forever own chickens.

5 yesterday. I've got chickens moulting all over the place and I mean feathers ALL over the place! Poor things look like they barely escaped a chicken plucker coming after them.

Ah i see. I had to look up the general weight to expect and it told me in grams. I dont know the metric system well

That is why we have Google! We stupid USA Americans should have converted to the metric system like we were supposed to 40 years ago.

I should have said henhouses, since I got 2 big ones, but getting crowded soon since babies growing up fast.

Time to start using that hammer for something other than smacking yourself on the head!

I am back turned the corner I am able to breathe without hawking a hairball at least most the time went to the girls first time in 4 days darn it felt good took watermelon filled feeders

Ok, is it correct to assume 1 egg per day per hen?? I have 7 hens, my average this month has been 5 to 6 eggs a day. They are 5 1/2 mos. old.
