How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Thank you! I have only had light brown layers for years (BR and BO) but added olive and Easter egger chicks (one of each) this spring. My OE laid her first egg 8/15 (19 weeks old) and the EE laid her first egg just last week (23 weeks old). The addition of the olive and light green eggs to the basket makes the light brown eggs pop with more of a pinkish tone, so I am falling in love with all of my girls and their eggs all over again! We are in town so are limited on flock size, but would like to add a true blue and chocolate layer next.
Having a variety of egg colors is so much fun! We have 5 EE and 1 BCM that are laying right now in addition to our light tan and light brown egg layers.

I miss our Favaucana’s pretty sage green eggs. We lost her to a coyote a couple of weeks ago.

My plan is to get a new Favaucana or two next spring in addition to some Ameraucanas and/or Cream Legbars.

Your girls are chicks from this spring right? They shouldn't have their first adult moult for another year. My guess is light or heat.
My 3 layers are all born November time last year and then started laying in the spring. So will they molt or not this year? My others haven't started laying yet (early May on wards hatches).

2 from yesterday (I'm presuming as I forgot to get them until this morning).

We do have a light goes on in the morning about 7 then off at 9 seems only 3 hard molts right now but will have 6 starting soon

Guess I forgot our old your birds were. My GUESS is yes they will moult and bye bye eggs unless you give supplemental light.
Hmmmmm hoped you wouldn't say that :lau . Not going to give light, they can have a rest! I think some of the breeds I've got are known to be good winter layers (can't remember which just remember reading when I was researching!) so if they start up before winter I shouldn't screech to a total stop with the eggs.

2/3 again today - I think it is the Sussex that hasnt' laid for a couple of days - hope she isn't going broody again!

Off at 9 PM I ASSUME since on at 7 AM and off at 9 AM would have the light on after the sun comes up. Actually, it still doesn't make sense since at least here at the moment sunrise is about 7 AM and sunset at 7 PM. No reason to have a light on all day.
