How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Hopefully some of my new layers hatched at that time will also lay eggs before winter since am having molters left and right, wife’s friends are “demanding” eggs like crazy.

How in the world you remember that ions ago convo about the feathered legs? Thanks for the info though, am beginning to think Real French Black Copper Marans in France doesn’t have feathered legs.
:lau:lau:lauIt wasn't that long ago and I was really confused as to why mine didn't (although if you remember I did read that both exist here!) so it stuck with me! Sorry that is me being tired - yes I meant leg feathers not feet feathers! They are still running around a bit wild (small chickens fit through my day run!) so don't get very close to them and been soooooo busy lately! I'll try to get some pics. I have the Black Copper Marans that you divined to be a boy when I asked and there is a lovely blue one as well (which I'm hoping is a girl!). My sole chick from my latest hatch is also a Marans so will wait and see what I get (would love a BCM female - so will probably be a blue splash male!).

Glad it isn't just me waiting on new girls to lay - is it likely or should I just expect spring for first eggs?

3/3 today (although I realised I've left 2 down the garden so may have lost them by tomorrow :lau )

I have 4 cuckoo marans leg feathers that should lay this year bought them from a breeder almost old enough just all my older are molting big time I have a home gown blue Olive egger looks like bad excuse for a naked neck went to close them last night she is miserable my sweet ameracauna tried to comfort her she ripped him a new one poor boy he flaps his wings then I flap mine he is buffaloed by me so far

Lots of kid drama here ( they are 30 and 31 years old, LOL!)
Going to a pig roast tomorrow with a friend, camping over night on Saturday. It'll be good to get away. I can pretend I don't have phone service!!:D
Eggs here are varying widely. On day 12 or 13 eggs, the next day 8 or 9 eggs. Tonight was an 8 or 9 egg day.

2 days ago I got 12, yesterday 10 and today 7. I am sensing a decrease here.....

We lost our Favaucana to a predator last week so there went one of my sweetest and most dependable egg layers. I am hoping to get another Favaucana in the spring along with a Faverolle, an Ameraucana and maybe some other breeds. There are lots I am interested in including Bielefelders, cream crested legbars and wellsummers. I am going to have to look into the breeds and see which will be best for our climate.
