Took in the eggs after cleaning as had gotten their little late had 1/2 a cord of wood
rest will be here tonight .. Spent this morning getting the garage used for it straightened
up from what was left from last year .. Had 6 from the main coop will check again as I go to close them in.. cleaned Silky the brats had not given one

6/11 have the ladies and gent locked up so no eggs being hidden from me today

Ended with one silky egg 7 from the main coop 2 barred rock have started laying now

10 today from La La Land. About average for the 14 that are laying age.

The stubborn Favaucana still “thinks” she wants to be broody off and on. She is driving me crazy with her inconsistency. One day she is stuck to the nest like glue and nothing can persuade her to leave. The next day she lets me boot her out and goes about having a normal day. If she would make up her mind I would be happy. I won’t give her fertile eggs or a chick if she isn’t going to stick with it because I don’t want to have a brooder going in the house right now.

So sorry to hear about your poor hatch rate! I wouldn't give up yet, but I would by day 25 or 26. Sometimes the temps run a little cooler than we think and that delays hatch.
Do any of your neighbors want chicks? Maybe you could order the 5 and share the extra chicks with them? Or maybe they have some chicks and yo can borrow or buy 1 or 2 to go with your lone chick.
I am glad to hear that the lone chick is being raised by a broody hen. At least it will learn how to be a chicken and operate within a flock from the start!

Thanks Karen. I have pulled everything and I opened the ones that were under Doris and not a single one was fertile - just rotten eggs. I am going to contact the breeder as clearly his only remaining CL roo is shooting blanks! I'm asking around the neighbours. I guess I can just sell them, maybe I should just order them for Monday.

9 eggs for me today. Tons of rain and I think the high today was 71 degrees

have not even been on silky land but to close a window we have some rain showers not enough will still have to water the garden

Have seen some national news they are talking about it.. Weather keeps changing here also but been much drier
