How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Though few days ago a couple of late hatches started giving me mini eggs every few days. So to answer @PouleChick previous question regarding Marans chicks that mature in winter, they did started laying and didn’t wait for spring.
Oh that is exciting!
We'll understand if you don't post egg counts until you get back.
:lau hubby forgot to collect them so sadly the ones that are under Hermione (6 I think) are poop covered which I'm guessing I can't use to hatch? I'll sort the little hutch tomorrow and move her in there adn give her the 5 I have plus any that get laid tomorrow.

I don't know why having some poop on them would affect her hatching them. Or you if you are talking about using an incubator. Better to leave them as is than to clean the bloom off.

Got 1 so far today, from an EE. Frozen and cracked, likely a late yesterday egg. Wouldn't have cracked if it were laid this morning. Cooked it and fed it to the cats. Vienna was in the nest box about 1/2 hour ago so I should have 2.

Don't toss them so fast or clean them they need the bloom still getting 6 to 8 from the main coop but now all four laying in silky land :frow

New today in Washington state we had our first tornado touch down in a town
not close to us Port Orchard but we have like 4 here all over water very small in 30 years now it is like hmmm thought we moved away from all that keep telling ourselves there is no climate change, there is no climate change

I got 8 eggs today. My hens are laying very well despite it being winter and the end of molting. WE are having a mild winter though. Up in the 40s. But I’m so tired of crappy eggs. Chickens keep pooping in the nest boxes and soiling the hay!!! My pet peeve is birds who sleep in the nest boxes because they’re too wimpy to roost. Cowards who don’t bother finding a place on the bar but hide and crap all over the nice clean hay :he
