13 eggs today and I bought 4 marans chicks at the feed store when I was picking up food. Will be bringing 9 meat chicks home from school on Friday. 9 out of 12 hatched successfully. 1 had pipped externally but did not finish zipping. They are in the science teacher's class ( I teach math). I went down to her room after school yesterday and that was when I saw that it had stopped and got shrink wrapped. It had already died.
The other 2 eggs had not pipped externally. I don't know if they had internally or not, but 9 free meat chicks is better than a poke in the eye!

I’ve got 6EEs in the basement.... impatiently waiting until they’re big enough to start laying
I did get 3 more and another turkey pullet and 2 light brahmas and I brought home the 9 meat chicks from school
I did spread some chick food on the ground of the brooder in case they were not eating out of the food container and I made sure to dip every chicks beak in the water container. So, hopefully whatever was the problem was, it has been remedied. I did watch they chicks this morning and saw some of them drinking and eating and some were even eating out of the food container. I guess whatever happens happens.
