How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Only 3 in the main today so far girls still in the nest 2 up silkie coop

19 eggs from Friday and Saturday combined. I did drop one and it cracked, so I tossed it to the birds. So 18 made it inside.
I sold 5 dozen today to a friend.

Only 2 today. One was from Penelope (2015 EE). She has NEVER EVER laid after her fall moult until sometime in February before. And I KNOW it was her as she was in one of the open nest boxes when I went down for morning animal chores. She came out after I gave her some BOSS since she missed out when I tossed it to the other girls before hearing her talking to me from the coop.

I had 7 main coop We were gone all day at friends a hour from here
1 from silky might be another when we close doors at nine

Saturday (6) 5 from pen and 1 from double cage. Sunday (7) 6 from pen and 1 from double cage. Was out doing last minute shopping for Christmas on Saturday.

So just 4 yesterday 6 already this morning we are few hours behind many of you west coast

That extra 4 seconds of daylight must be making a big difference , I got SIX eggs today. A new high, still waiting on the 2 EE pullets to get with the program.

Mine did not get the memo about solstice increasing he laying.

Just 2 yesterday.

Good thing I am not doing any baking this year.

2019 spring pullets or girls that have gone through at least their first adult moult? Amazingly one of my older EEs laid yesterday and today, something I don't expect this time of year based on 6 years of history. The ones that are laying are the girls from Meyer that came in early June.

That seems to be the typical pattern. The ones I got in late April prior years started in their first fall then QUIT for the winter. I figured they would start earlier, like when the older girls quit for the year and keep going but 2 tries with that didn't prove to be true.

I have 6 pullets and 22 birds over 3 years old with some of those over 6.....even 2 that are 10+.
