Just 2 eggs today. Hmph. Would’ve been 3, but 1 got eaten. It’s pure dominance, I should’ve expected it. Now that Hero’s back, the hens are rearranging the pecking order. My poor blue JG, Mary, laid a lovely egg even though she’s molting, and somebody (probably the buff Cochin, Sunshine) ate it! She’s been molting for 2 months and still has a ways to go, but when she’s on, Mary is my best layer. 5-6 a week, all extra-large to jumbo, but never OVER-large. I’m actually afraid of oversized eggs, since they can indicate or cause damage to a hen’s delicate innards. I’d rather have normal-sized eggs, just plenty of them! Only ever got 1 double-yolker, that was from Sunshine. Lots of long narrow eggs from one of my Marans, but that’s it. No fart eggs either.

nothing else to report eggs have not hatched early still have two days for 21

Got 20 today! Only 6 quail eggs! I butchered a few quail & then sold every last quail today, so no more quail eggs for me! All my goats left for their new home too! Just me and my chickens, ducks, guinea & turkey now!!! I'm so freaking happy! Did I mention all three of my incubators are running!!!??? I have 8 empty cages now, lol!
