How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Once all 64 of my layers get with the program, I'm thinking we'll be eating lots of egg salad...

I got 2 today, I guess I can excuse them for a couple of days due to the stress of being moved and integrating.

6 today, not sure why the girls are slowing down rather than speeding up.

11 so far but one hen is still on nest.

Only got seven today.
I took my daughters to the pet store to buy my oldest a fish tank. Today is her birthday (11). We came home with two cats instead! Not that big a deal unless you have 13 chicks in house too. I had to get a brooder built on my back porch so my chicks would not end up as cat food.
It’s been a busy day for me.

Well, I only "collected" 18 eggs today! Caught my neighbors dog coming out my henhouse pop door with a big brown egg and hay hanging out of her mouth!!! She just kept running as I hollered after her, she never looked back! Confirmed where the ceramic eggs have been disappearing to!!! I think she got a beating by the neighbor she won't soon forget. The neighbor retrieved the egg, unbroken!!!

Actually, I would love if Maggie or one of the other Cochins wanted to go broody. They don’t seem to know how. With Cochins and Brahmas you’d figure I had at least ONE good broody. Not so far. She abandoned the egg. It froze solid and cracked.

On top of that, no new eggs today. NONE!! That hasn’t happened since they first started laying! Of course, it was shockingly cold today and last night.

OK, how does one go in for an aquarium and come out with TWO cats?? Did your spouse have a say in the matter or just a big surprise when you got home?

Isn’t that like asking, How does one walk into a store for a bag of feed and walk out with another dozen chicks?
No spouse. My oldest daughter decided she wanted fish because she and her sister gave up asking me for cats. And of course I finally gave in when we got to the store and I saw how much she wanted this little gray cat. My youngest (age 9) also fell in love with a tabby so I got both.
