How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

#
We have 12 pullets and 1 rooster. 9 of them are new layers and 3 of them won’t lay until October or so.
My husband and I got in a disagreement, he said “what will you do when you start to get 12 eggs a day?” I snubbed him and said it would never happen. We’ve been getting 2-3 eggs a day for the past few weeks. Out of 5 hens I know are laying.
Apparently I have no clue what I was talking about though. Yesterday I checked the box and the coop after work. 8 eggs. Today after work, 8 more eggs!!! So 8/9 hens are laying and I look like a dummy 😂
I know what you mean! This week I announced our first half dozen from my first laying pullet. Then my daughter, away at college, pointed out to me how with 5 hens I'll soon be having so many eggs! I hadn't done that math, hello! About 3 dz eggs a week? (I'm an empty-nester, hence went crazy and possibly got chickens to fill the void  ) So I will be eating a lot of eggs, baking a bunch, making Mayonnaise and I guess I could give some away...so crrraaazzzy! 😄

2 today. The EE that started laying first, has been doing good. The other laying EE layed a soft shelled egg yesterday, and she has been doing okay. My BO finally layed her first egg today, a nice pink ish color, so now I have 3 laying pullets. My only non laying pullet of adequate age, another EE, hasn’t shown any signs as of now, so I don’t think she start laying until next week at least.

But yay! Good day over here so far, but it’s only 11:10 so who knows? Still have 7 hours left of the ‘work’ day, my girls have been known to lay pretty late.

5 of 6 today, but I guess there is still time ..

I got my first 70+ gram egg!!! I didn’t crack it open yet, so not sure if it’s a double yolk. The three doubles I've had so far were in the 60g range.
