Seems like it. I’m working on rebuilding my flock, so if she starts sitting in the next week I’ll see about getting some eggs for breeds I want.

So it’s a little early for egg counting but I had to share this. It’s not @Sequel size but it’s huge for my girls! I thought someone’s duck had sneaked into my coop and laid an egg! It’s only 88g but looks like 2 eggs badly fused together in the middle.

I get that "badly fused" thing as well but the eggs aren't THAT big. Of course any egg that is decently larger than a given girl's normal egg can have that appearance.

8 eggs from 18 hens. But 11 of those are just at laying age while the others are pros. The white egg I got from my poor bantam today could be counted as 2 though.

How big was the egg? My tiny (1 and half pound) silkies lay around 35-40g eggs, seems big for such tiny girls!

8 eggs today. I don’t have eye witness proof but I think 14 of 15 are laying now. Little Pepper the Dominique is the only one left. She’s a bit younger than the others. She was one of my bonus pullets when I bought my rooster. All that poor fella wanted to do is get rid of some extra roosters and I talked him out of 2 pullets! I put my chicken math powers on him. He never had a chance. The force is strong!

Only 2 and the stinking babies cracked one of them because they can't seem to stay out of the dang nesting boxes. I need the babies to start laying not just so I have eggs again but so they know what a nesting box is for and stop trying to throw parties in there.

How old are the babies? They will often start checking out nest boxes when they are getting ready to lay.
