How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I now have 3 broody hens outs of 6 hens... so 50% of the big girls are broody. (Good thing I have 5-7 pullets that are 8 weeks now!)

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I don’t have a rooster... (can’t keep them) so they’re sitting on nothing they can hatch.


On another note, is it usual for a chicken to be broody for 5+ weeks? My Silkie Mochi has been broody for that amount of time.

No she will make herself sick ,, put her in in crate so wind can go under her leave her like 2 or up 4 days no food or water

I got 11 today. Was hoping for another Wanda Beth egg but it was everyone except her.

25 today. Michael the rooster went into the ground today He was gorgeous, but been flogged way too many times.

Ok. I’ve been having to take her out of the nesting box a lot... but I really hate to put her in a cage. I’m also on vacation for 10 days, so I’m not at home.

If she’s still broody when I get home then I guess I’ll put her in a cage. Thank you!

8 big girls coop, 2 in banty 2 on the nest with 8 big eggs

1 barred rock, 1 Rhode island, 2 leghorns and 2 buff orpingtons.

They should be laying roughly around 20 weeks like @Lemon-Drop said, although my orpingtons were a bit older than that, closer to 28 weeks.

Do your hens free range? Mine are really good at hiding nests

193 and 196 today so funny story i have been fasting for the past 2 months and i havent even tasted my eggs yet and i have exactly 5 hours left till i break my fast .i break fast at 3AM and you have no idea hw excited i am. Any suggestions on how i should eat my first eggs ??
