Only 3 today. These girls are slacking, I think only 6 or 7 of the 14 are laying right now.

7/12 today. The bare(est) back girl is showing signs of new growth.

I've got 13 hens and one is super broody right now and I only got 5 eggs today because the girls that all lay blue eggs have figured out how to make nests while they free range and lay outside in the surrounding "wilds" of meadow and forest. I found a nest with 7 blue eggs last week, and brought them in but when I cracked them the yolks broke.. like I have time to hunt eggs now? I'm 73 and amusing myself that I"m adding chicken herder to the long list of things I've done in this life.. but egg hunter.. I"m still working on that one... maybe if it was April.

seems 3 of my 4 girls decided to take a vacation. Have not gotten any eggs from them for a few days now. Was thinking maybe they had a nest on the sly somewhere, but they been locked up the past few days and no eggs. Im thinking maybe they are coming into their molt and that is why? at least I hope, because I don't see anything wrong with them obvious.
