My ducks are on a workers strike!

Since 4/1 my 3 ducks are laying 4 a day, go figure!

My red sexlinks/hybrids do that. What seemed to help is checking for eggs constantly throughout the day for a week, as well as placing fake eggs in the nests. Now it rarely happens (to my knowledge), mostly if a hen lays somewhere outside instead of in the nests.

I've had really good results with fake eggs as well. Just remember to double check the buyers dozens, accidentally put a fake egg in and had it returned (very embarrassed) The buyer laughed

I was thinking of putting a little x on the bottom of the fake eggs. Use a sharpie. Sent off 8 dozen eggs to friends and coworkers to help folks out with feeding themselves and families right now. Egg salad sandwiches at work today, I cooked a bunch up yesterday…

14 today. I observed my broody banty engaged in a staring contest with one of her sisters. Apparently sissy really wanted to lay in that nest! It was hilarious. Ya had to be there.

In other news, Ugly the mystery chick has started laying. It’s brown… She’s one of the nicest chickens we have though, so I can’t let her go. She grows on you lol

Our chicks are only 4 weeks old. We ended up getting rid of our other 3. Cant wait o get eggs
