Molt and stress is about I have figured out.
Building a new coop behind the old one.
Have 5 birds that could lay would give me 7.
instead I get 2 a day.

Update: I forgot the egg sitting on the coop floor so I actually got nine eggs today. Floor egg may freeze overnight because I am not going out in the dark to fish it out of the coop while it's snowing lol.

Nada. Zip. Zero. I’m down to eight hens, ages 2.5 to almost 7 years and all but one are in some stage of molt. The one is almost six, but her comb and wattles are getting fleshy and red and she squatted for me once recently. She may start up soon, but hard to say when the days are getting so short.

Ten eggs today from twelve hens.

I forgot to get the floor egg again. It's at the back of the coop so not easily accessible. I will likely have to fish it out with the rake and hope that I don't break it.
