How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Today we got 5! Out of 6 hens. We've been pretty consistently getting 4 over the last month or so. We got our chicks as babies in April and they started laying August 1st. I wish I could tell whose laying what, mostly out of curiosity. We've got a wire basket full of pretty colors - blue/green, brown, and someone is laying very small white/cream colored eggs...Today we had 2 of those. I have a Blink camera in the coop but it's not mounted so hard to tell who's laying since sometimes multiple are going in & the camera isn't always recording. We've got 3 EE, 1 Welsummer, 1 Speckled Sussex, and 1 Buff Brahma. Google hasn't really been super helpful in identifying (or I haven't been using good search terms).

6 eggs from 6 hens again yesterday. That's a dozen eggs in 2 days! I used 8 eggs to make a big batch of scrambled eggs with cheese for breakfast. Winter will be here in no time and I wonder how it will affect egg production. We usually get our first snow in October but it doesn't start snowing on a regular basis until late November. This is their first winter and I am not anticipating any molting but I suppose it could happen.

Many pullets will lay pretty good during their first winter. So you may still get plenty. :)

I've been getting about 3 a day from the year old girls. Been getting more from the new ones .... if I knew where they where hiding them! Found one of my 5month olds sitting on a pile of 13 or 14 bantam eggs a few days ago. I have not found the next nest yet. LOL

Most of the yearolds are molting so I'm not expecting much until the new batch starts laying.
