Eight. Five brown, two chocolate, one blue.

Four today, a blue, a green, 2 brown. So 4 girls were on holiday.

Elsie the Egger took the day off, and no one else used her improvised nest from yesterday. (They all stuck with the favorite center nest box). I'll be curious if she next lays in her "illicit" spot or goes back to the legit nest boxes.

2 today, Août and Juin.

Juillet put on a very convincing act, clucking and fussing all morning, chasing Juin (who actually had an egg to lay posthaste) out of the nest box, coming out 15 minutes later to sing a raucous egg song… but no egg was laid. Poor Juin nearly had to lay in a tipped over flower pot.

Mei didn’t even try.

But guess what? Août laid in the nestbox! The clean bedding flakes lured her in! She is now the perfect chicken

only 2 duck and 2 chicken eggs this morning, but we've been fighting high winds, rain and possibly snow alittle later on.

3/10 today. My EE is still egg-a-daying, but my black OE is slowing down to every other day. One GLW is still laying, and one Australorp, I think.
