How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Drumroll…
I got 14 today, from 20! A new record high! Unfortunately I dropped one on the way inside (was not prepared to get that many).

And now I know for sure that all 3 BYM chickens are laying a shade of green!

I lost count but think it was at least a dozen…. I had three pockets full and the egg bowl, I was chanting ‘eggs in my pocket, eggs in my pocket’ so as not to forget or break any - though how I would forget a Dozen eggs weighing me down I wouldn’t know

normally my chic's are done laying before early dec. here. even the spring of the year ones. i got 6 R.I Reds and 6 copper marans from T.S.C in early June. the copper marans surprisingly started to lay 1st in mid sept. and all at once. the R.I Reds only a few and only started in late oct. im still getting 4-5 eggs a day and its mostly the c. marans. ive had chics for 40yrs and I've never still got eggs past dec. i dont use lights or heat. it must be our mild weather. we haven't had a night below 0 and usually have had quite a few by now.

2 again, Août and Juin.

We didn’t get snow, but the morning was a wash out, and from noon on there were fierce winds. I kept the girls in their run, and tried to distract them with zucchini and broccoli stems. My husband spent the day anxiously watching the run roof out the window, hoping the tin wouldn’t blow off. It didn’t!

3 but once again someone got to two early. New nesting boxes were thrown up just after it but it may take some time to get them used to it.
