I've mentioned the luffa before - this is what they look like now. These were the first ones and they are destined for sponge-hood as they are too high for my short self to get to them without a ladder. There are ones that are lower that will be made into soup or stir fry. Gourds longer than 6 inches on harvest are bound to be too fibrous for consumption.

I’m hating this humid, summer-like weather we’ve been getting lately. I think the girls very much concur, but at least they appreciate the daily frozen treats of peas, corn and the occaisonal chunk of cantaloupe. I just wish spring could stay spring a bit longer.
