Juillet’s was another super bloomer. She must have held it in too long again. I like the little pinstripe though!

Août’s was unfortunately half soft-shelled. I’ve been giving her extra calcium, but I guess I’ll have to do so everyday instead of every other day.

Juin laid a normal egg. So far she is the only one of my formerly four hens who has no trouble laying. Maybe Marans just aren’t suitable for my climate. I hope my new Splash Marans, Helmi, has an easier time laying than Juillet and Août do. Bonus picture of Helmi, because she’s pretty

5 eggs today, all clean and all laid in the nest box. I'm going to hardboil a dozen today and maybe make pickled eggs for the first time.

ETA: Spoke too soon. Egg #6 was in the nest this afternoon. It's solid and shaped well but it has a chalky, slightly bumpy texture to it. Just a glitch I guess.

I got one egg today lol. I raise show birds and right now only one is laying because the rest are too young. All of my show ducks are done laying for the season. I had to turn off my incubators this morning

I just weighed the egg from my Olive Egger and it weighs 70/71 grams
