None…..raccoons got one of my ducks last night

Oh no! So sorry to hear this. Dreadful creatures - extremely smart and devious. I have found electric fencing will deter the little so-and-so’s - I love electric fencing, highly entertaining too!

11 eggs today.

I need to keep an eye out tomorrow to see who is laying what. Also my OEGB bantam pullet is showing signs of coming into lay. Haven’t seen any wee white eggs yet though.

Zero today.

Some very sweet (to humans) dogs showed up to terrorize my chickens this afternoon. The flock was safe, but they were so frantic they kept flying into the hardware cloth walls of their run, and all ended up with bleeding combs. I grabbed each bird and tossed them in their coop to calm them while my husband wrangled the three dogs. I treated their combs with neosporin. We’ll have to find the dogs’ owners tomorrow. Also, I’m going to put a simple temporary fence around their foraging area. Thank goodness they weren’t out foraging when these pups came by.

I would be livid. We had neighbor that had a dog that ran it managed to get over the fence my rooster kept it from his hens.
I screamed at her to get her bleeping dog.
She had the dog put to sleep never saying a word toward to me.
