How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Might be soon you will feel not as cold. Officially 100 more days, but nature feels the changing of season before that. Your plants might have already wake up from the winter cold slowly.

I notice it is like that over here near the end of winter. We were still feeling the cold, but wild birds are chirping and singing.

I suspect over here we will have an early winter and will be a cold one. Bring it on!
Oh we will get warm weather and the snow will melt eventually, by the end of March, but we can still get snow until early May and a killing frost until the end of May. I have seen frost in June!

So we generally do not plant delicate plants like tomatoes until end of May.

Farmers will have planted soy bean and potatoes mid April if the fields have dried out, and corn in Mid May. First hay is generally end of May first of June.

But our really nice hot summer weather won’t arrive until first of July, and will last until mid August - usually. Some years we get a longer heat spell. Some less.

Right now it’s February and that means storms and cold. But the daylight hrs are lengthening, and soon the sun’s warmth will beat down the cold and melt the snow.

Of course for you now it’s the opposite, your on your way to winter. Do you get snow there in your location?

By the end of March is not too far away, it will probably start a bit sooner with the gradual process.

Tomatoes are dedicated indeed!

You are looking forward to the warm sunshine, melting of snow and longer day. I am looking forward to the end of the summer, we have been having terrible spring and summer season this year. My mango fruits are mostly rotten because of the excessive rain.

In my state being Queensland does not have snow. Our winter coldest is around 5C =41F. The day has started to get shorter. I am so please with that. I want to be inside my cooper earlier.:)

Our Southern states do have snow, but not heavy snow that stops traffic like it is in America. I have never heard on the news reporting snow storm..e.tc.. but it is sometimes on the news reporting people are happy & playing outside for seeing the first snow fall of the season.

Yes I sure am looking forward to the heat and humidity 😊 even the mosquitoes.

Our springs here can be miserably wet and rainy, and I have a feeling that’s what will happen this spring. And it will be mud I will have to deal with. At least snow you can move around and plow up. Mud - there is nothing you can do about it.

Today the chooks looked out the back door of the barn, gave a half hearted peck at the snow and went back in. They are also tired of this weather, I have been ensuring they have lots of stuff to do in the barn, they love picking through the horses’ stalls eating horse poop and picking grains from the straw bedding. They also have boards and planks to hop up on and run across, places to hide their eggs, and make me hunt for them hahaha.

I throw scratch grain in the bedding so they have to scratch and hunt for it. But I am sure they are ready for some outside time.
