I got 9 today! 5 duck and 4 chicken. One of my Easter Eggers started laying today!

I saw Jade hiding in the crepe Myrtles earlier and she didn’t come when I brought out treats. Had to use my “egg retrieval device” to get the egg she tried to cover with leaves.

2 eggs yesterday

Lack of rooster issue.
3 of my hens doing the rooster mating behaviour to the flock. I am rather distress about this, 2 of them are having feather issue due to hen mating hen. I separated 1 hen, still the other 2 living together, but whenever these 2 mingle with the rest of the flock, they each find another hen to jump on.

I have no idea what to do so I hit the top of their tail feathers with hope that they know it is not acceptable. Now I have to permanently separate them. I HATE it!!

Oh why, oh why it is so difficult!

But it's not about mating, it's about dominance. Not sure how to fix. Maybe, once the pecking order is established, they will stop.

12 eggs for me today. 6 brown, 6 blue.

We got 15 today. Even the older hens are starting to lay again now. The bulk of our eggs are brown from Sapphire Gems or Blue from Cream Crested Legbars.
