How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Clover and Coriander recently were broody (one for the second time).

Here's Clover, Cardamom, and Cumin all laying eggs inside my front porch cupboard.

And here is Clover's little mini egg (from last Saturday), next to one of Coriander's (from before she went broody). Her fairy egg looks so cute! I want to treasure it forever.

Strange! Just as I posted the above comment, I heard a broody noise from the cupboard...Clover is squashing down like a pancake, and Cumin and Cardamom had left with no eggs in the nest!

Coriander is now hanging about near Clover, looking like she wants to lay her egg. Cardamon and Cumin have gone somewhere else.


Could Clover be broody again for a third time, and so soon? She was broody back in January, then in February started molting (and still is).
For the record, all these hens are Hy-Line red sex-links.

17 total eggs today... One was the first pullet egg from our Sapphire Gems. Now 4 of the five are laying.

Alas I was wrong! Clover, Cumin, Cardamom, and Coriander have all laid their eggs today! Coriander sung her chook song too.

As my teenage pullet Leghorn cross Chamomile has only just come out of broodiness (I still think she could fall back into it), I don't expect her to lay an egg today.

You can! Just set it aside in a safe place. It will dry out. I've kept all of mine!

4 eggs today from 5 hens and 5 yesterday. They're crankin' them out after a bone dry January.

12. But I am not collecting them now, my GC is, I'm laid up due to a knee injury. So I don't know what colors. I'll try to get to the kitchen tomorrow and sort things out if I can.

But would I need to make a small hole at both ends to blow out the contents? It does not feel empty.

Nope! After a while if you shake it, you will just hear the mummified contents rattling around. If you try to poke holes in it, you will most likely destroy it.
