We got 14 total today with 6 being blue. One got discarded that was laid on the ground and had been peck but not opened and ate.

Same as usual, 4 for 4, DW gave a doz to her sister and another doz to a friend of hers and still have enough for us.

I do suspect again that Clover has gone broody again...yesterday she went back to the nest to sit on six eggs that had been laid there over the past two days, and wouldn't move... Occasionally she made these high-pitched broody-like sounds. I picked her up and she pancaked on the porch floor. So I picked her up and put her near the water bowl. She had a drink and went back to foraging, then roosted with the flock in the coop at night.


However this morning she is back on the nest again - been there for at least two hours...

I have a SS that's broody. Every afternoon I pick her up off the nest and throw her over a fence to get afternoon snacks with the rest of the horde, and she pecks and scratches along with them a bit ... but next morning she is always back on the nest.

Here she is nesting on the golf ball in the current nest (my front porch cupboard). She was making the broody noises before I filmed her. Straight after I picked her up and moved her to the side yard.

And yep she IS broody again! Twice I have taken her away from the nest during the last hour, and while typing this I can hear her "took-tooking" in the background, possibly looking for the golf ball that I have now hidden away.

What gives? It's way too EARLY for anybody to be going broody! I've never seen broodiness this early, it's nuts!
