How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Right now 2 over work hens are busy producing egg to pay for whole flock boarding.

So there will be 2 eggs today!

The rest at the moment enjoying their breakfast and some spreading out their wings in the sunshine.

5 eggs today, from all but Juin.

Unfortunately Marzo’s egg was soft. I was worried when I was letting them forage, and she was very still. Marzo is like a pinball most of the time. She’s ok now though, perky and chipper, but we’ll keep an eye on her.

22 eggs, and I found a cache is 9 blue eggs hidden behind a gate. I checked there a couple weeks ago and no eggs then, but now eggs located there.

I imagine they will be ok, it’s not been the least bit warm so they should be fine. I imagine it will be one of my Azur Blue who lays those lovely blue eggs.

My Isa Brown hen came out with an eggshell that was on the thin side. I gave her 1 calcium citrate+D tablet, then she was ok with the next egg, then an egg without shell. I continued with the Calcium for a week, so all was good. Then I stopped it and after some days, she was back laying thin shell egg again. Back to the tablet again. Her egg was fine yesterday.

I just don't know what up with her.

I continued with the Calcium for a week, so all was good. Then I stopped it and after some days, she was back laying thin shell egg again. Back to the tablet again. Her egg was fine yesterday.

I just don't know what up with her.

We will mix one calcium tablet into an egg and cook it in the microwave, then feed it to her and see if that helps. This is her first soft egg and I hope it doesn’t become a regular thing. I think she just hasn’t been eating enough shells.

I’m sorry your girl is having so much trouble. My Août had an awful time with soft eggs last year due to stress, but she molted and stopped laying for a few months, and she hasn’t had another soft egg since she started up again. It’s sad to see them struggling to lay them

9 laid yesterday but I got 8! 6 ducks laid and 3 chickens laid. But… this happened to one chicken egg…

I was right about a snake!


I’m currently away and will be back in 10 days, but my neighbor will be telling me how many duck eggs she gets, she’ll check the birds tomorrow, so don’t know how many eggs were laid today. I told her to leave the chicken eggs inside incase my 10yo lays, so I can attempt hatching those eggs, I got an incubator yesterday. So I will update on how many chicken eggs I get when I’m back home!
